Owney is a male 5 yr old. 16 lb Schnauzer who was found and never claimed. He is confused but slowly showing his personality. He’s a sweet guy who just needs some love. We are learning more about him every day.

His name was given to him as he was found near a post office, and there was a dog named Owney who, in the late 1800’s, became a mascot at the post office in Albany NY.  As the years passed, he traveled the world with the mail, and his remains are currently on display at the Smithsonian  in the National Postal Museum’s atrium.
